Landlords and tenants in commercial buildings may apply for up to $50,000 for a one-time facade improvement grant for building located in the district.  The funds are provided by the Pearland Economic Development Corporation (PEDC), and must be matched dollar-for-dollar at a minimum.  Public funds may be used to improve building elements on facades facing public streets, including pitched roofs.  The grant is a reimbursement of costs incurred to upgrade existing structures, and project must be selected on a competitive basis.  Only commercial properties of for-profit entities are eligible.  Architectural assistance is available at no charge.

Businesses may apply for a grant for 50% up to $5,000 of the cost of replacing signage.  Applications are taken on a first-come, first-served basis year-round.  Architectural assistance for sign design is available at no charge.

Owners of property proposed for commercial uses may apply for a reimbursement of 50% up to $2,000 for costs to survey and plat the property.

Any property owner or tenant who renovates a structure or builds new structures in the district is eligible to receive a one-time cash bonus grant for the construction project.  The bonus is based upon the claimed permit value at the inception of the project.  The bonus must be claimed within six months of the Certificate of Occupancy is issued at the end of the project.
